Representative Matters
- Represented a municipality in the creation, finance, development and construction of a new downtown center, including retail, office space, new city hall, library, and recreation center
- Represented amunicipal special taxing district on bond validation and closing for beach renourishment
- Assisted a city in developing a residential growth management ordinance
- Provided counsel and played a significant role in the deregulation of Ohio's electric utility industry
- Represented a state agency in the litigation of a construction defect claim
- Experienced in dealing with campaign finance and election issues, including advice relating to Political Action Committtes and campaign strategies
- Provided grant management services for approximately $550 million in federal and Florida state aid related to Hurricane Andrew. Grants included: economic development; housing; public infrastructure; hazardous mitigation; and public assistance
- Represented public entities regarding public records act matters, issues related to Revised Code Chapter 2744, civil services issues, and other issues related to public employees.
- Provided a comprehensive recovery strategy in Florida for Hurricanes Charley and Francis, including public assistance reimbursements
- Served as bond counsel in the issuance of county Housing Mortgage Revenue Bonds, Series 2002
- Served as counsel to a transit authority in a sale / leaseback transaction
- Represented a county government in the negotiating and drafting a project labor agreement for a county expansion project
- Represented a municipality in the construction of a mixed-used and lifestyle centers
- Retained by a public housing authority to prosecute suit against a remediation contractor, for failing to meet the specifications in the mold removal process
- Represented and advised a local housing authority regarding the acquisition of a computer-based accounting, property management, and client oversight software system, and the associated computer hardware and peripherals
- Defended a city police officer in federal court action for violation of civil rights under 42 U.S.C. 1983
- Directed the development and leasing of post offices in over twenty different states
- Represented a municipality in a worker's compensation retaliation suit
- Counseled cities, villages, and townships in union campaigns, labor contract negotiations ,and arbitration proceedings
- Provide full-scale federal, state, and local lobbying services for various Fortune 200 companies, small businesses, trade associations, and local governments
