Representative Matters
- Served as counsel in the acquisition, development, land use, zoning, leasing, construction, financing, and outparcel sales for several grocery store anchored shopping centers located throughout Florida
- Obtained a jury verdict in federal court in favor of a national retail chain regarding an employee's claim of sexual and handicap discrimination
- Defended a major retail chain against age discrimination allegations
- Assisted a client in the acquisition of a shopping center in southwest Florida
- Acted as the zoning and land use counsel for the developer of a multi-million dollar Planned Unit Development
- Acted as the developer's counsel for the development of a major retail center that became contaminated by a former dry cleaning facility located at the site under the Ohio EPA's Voluntary Action Program (VAP)
- Acted as the developer's counsel in a multi-state development of retail out-parcel sites for use by a national office products retailer
- Represented a national auto parts store in expansion from 70 to 260 stores across the country
- Represented the largest coffee and baked goods chain in the world during their acquisition and leasing of locations throughout the U.S.
- Coordinated an orderly liquidation of a national chain of retail stores
- Served as developer's counsel with respect to obtaining stream and wetland permits for construction of a major mixed-used commercial shopping center / residential development
- Acted as counsel for a developer in connection with zoning for a shopping center involving approximately 312,000-square feet of retail, plus five out-parcels for future development
- Obtained dismissal of FAA HazMat enforcement for a U.S. retailer
- Successfully represented a Fortune 250 drug store retailer in a business litigation claim concerning closing retail outlets in violation of its lease
- Acted as special zoning and development counsel for a prominent national improvement store chain with a new retail location
- Represented a Fortune 250 retail drugstore (with over 100 locations in Ohio) in a variety of legal matters related to their operations, including real estate, landlord and tenant disputes, liability claims, pharmacy malpractice, employment, and workers' compensation
