His legal training is complemented by a finance and business background; he holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and has completed both the Tax Practice Course from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Canadian Securities Course. Mr. Langford is actively involved in many capacities in the community and is currently a director of the Central Okanagan Foundation, sits on the UBC Okanagan Athletic Scholarship Breakfast Committee and is Committee Member of the BC Law Institute's Real Property Reform Project. Mr. Langford has also served in many business and charitable capacities, including: two terms as Chair of the Economic Development Committee of the Central Okanagan; many years as a Director of Pacific Safety Products Inc.; as a member of the Investment Advisory Committee of the Altura Growth Fund (EVCC) Inc.; and, as a member of the B.C. Business Advisory Council for the Western Diversification Secretariat of Industry Canada. He is also a former president of the Kelowna Bar Association, director of the United Way and contributing writer to Okanagan Business Magazine.
