BiographyRuth is a former regulator at the global insurance hub Lloyd's of London. Having spent many years in practice in the funds, insurance and financial institutions group at Clifford Chance, London and more recently as head of global insurance at Maples and Calder, Ruth specializes in advising financial institutions, insurers, funds and private equity houses on all aspects of corporate and private equity structuring and regulation. Ruth has particular experience working with both domestic and captive insurers, brokers and insurance managers in the Cayman Islands and is an associate member of the Chartered Insurance Institute and Chartered Insurance Practitioner. Ruth graduated from Leicester University with an honours degree in law and the College of Law in London, before joining Lloyd's of London as a regulator in 1995. After two years there, she qualified as a solicitor with The City Law Partnership, now part of Maclay Murray & Spens LLP, before joining Clifford Chance in 1999. In 2003 she joined Maples and Calder in the Cayman Islands, before transferring to their London office in 2005. She joined Myers & Alberga in 2009, on its restructuring.
