Ruth Katz is a community associations attorney at Lerch, Early & Brewer in Bethesda, Maryland. She helps community association managers and boards with general condominium, homeowners association and cooperative issues like document interpretation and amendments, as well as with litigation, dispute resolution, covenant enforcement and delinquent assessment collections.
Ruth works with community associations throughout Maryland, the District of Columbia and Virginia. She is known as an energetic and determined attorney whose clients respect her legal acumen and enjoy her outgoing personality.
Ruth is admitted to practice in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Virginia, as well as the U.S. District Courts of Maryland and the District of Columbia. Prior to joining Lerch Early, Ruth practiced litigation at an Alexandria, Virginia law firm.
She has beennamed a “Rising Star” by Maryland and Washington, DC Super Lawyers magazines and by the Washington Metropolitan Chapter of the Community Associations Institute. Ruth is active in WMCCAI and serves as a co-chair of CAI’s Maryland Legislative Committee and is a member of Quorum magazine's Editorial Committee. In the community, she is active in the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and serves on the board of directors of the Hillel House at Gallaudet University.
Born in Washington, D.C., Ruth received her Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and earned her Juris Doctor from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Ruth enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog, Rosco, a lab/hound mix. An avid adventure seeker, she combines her love of running, hiking and walking with her love of world travel. She recently hiked Peru’s Inca Trail to the ancient ruins of Machu Pichu.
