| Biography | Ryan Cochran is a partner at Waller Lansden and practices in the areas of corporate restructuring, financial services and construction law. Mr. Cochran represents banks, financial institutions and specialty lenders in both the restructuring of and in litigation related to their nonperforming loans. Mr. Cochran currently represents the indenture trustee in connection with litigation against Jefferson County, Alabama related to defaults of more than $3,200,000,000 in pledged revenue bonds issued to fund capital improvements to Jefferson County's sewer system and $120,000,000 in general obligation bonds. The litigation against Jefferson County has resulted in the appointment of a receiver to take over control of the county's sewer system. Mr. Cochran's involvement in the area of construction law includes construction-related dispute resolution and the negotiation of construction-related agreements. Additionally, Mr. Cochran is certified as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) by the Green Building Certification Institute. The LEED AP credential indicates that Mr. Cochran has an understanding of the U.S. Green Building Council's "green building" practices. Mr. Cochran was a contributing author to, the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry's treatise on construction insurance published in 2011.
