Sanjaya Mendis is an associate in our Intellectual Property Litigation Group in Toronto. He practices exclusively in the areas of Intellectual Property and Litigation, with an emphasis on pharmaceutical patent litigation.

Prior to joining McCarthy Tétrault, Mr. Mendis summered and completed his articles with Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP in Ottawa. At Osler, he worked on a variety of intellectual property matters, focusing primarily on applications pursuant to the PM(NOC) Regulations and patent infringement actions.

Mr. Mendis received his Bachelor of Science, Honours Specialization in Biochemistry, from the University of Ottawa in 2008. He also received his JD from the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Law in 2011. While attending law school, Mr. Mendis spent a semester abroad in France, studying International and European Law at Université Jean Moulin (Lyon III). He was called to the Ontario bar in 2012.

Mr. Mendis is a member of Toronto Intellectual Property Group, the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada, the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Ontario Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association.
