Sarah has an active litigation practice as a member of the firm's Healthcare, Life Sciences & Pharmaceuticals team. She focuses on healthcare defense, including medical malpractice actions and nursing home litigation, as well as defending managed-care organizations. She has substantial experience representing physicians and other healthcare providers in personal injury, wrongful-death claims and commercial disputes, such as:
•Defending a Fortune 100 company in a lawsuit involving breach of contract and tortious-interference claims.
Counseling one of the nation's largest managed behavioral healthcare companies in a lawsuit brought by a member's family after the member's sudden death.
Obtained several defense verdicts for physicians in medical malpractice actions pending in St. Louis City, St. Louis County and Cape Girardeau County, Mo.
Obtained a complete defense verdict for a skilled-nursing facility in a wrongful death action brought in St. Louis City. After a two-week trial, the jury found the defendant was not responsible for compensatory or punitive damages.
Sarah has extensive first- and second-chair trial experience in state and federal courts and, moreover, routinely works with clients to ensure their business goals are met and their cases are handled in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
