Sarit E. Batner

Sarit E. Batner is a partner in our Litigation Group in Toronto. She maintains a general litigation practice with particular emphasis on complex commercial and professional liability issues.

Ms. Batner has extensive trial experience in cases considering issues of breach contract, taxation, franchise disputes, professional negligence and breaches of fiduciary duties. She has experience before juries, arbitration panels, administrative and regulatory tribunals. Ms. Batner has a particular interest in professional liability matters, having acted as counsel for doctors, accountants and lawyers in a wide variety of cases.

Ms. Batner has a record of success before all levels of courts in Ontario and frequently speaks and writes on matters of substantive law and procedure. She also teaches Trial Advocacy to both students and lawyers at the University of Toronto Law School and at Osgoode Hall's annual Intensive Trial Advocacy Workshop.

Ms. Batner obtained a B.Sc. with Distinction in Mathematics in 1995, and was awarded the Gold Medal in Sciences. She obtained a JD from the University of Toronto in 1998 and was called to the Ontario bar in 2000.
