Group Depth and Experience

Saul Ewing's Utility Practice Group has an impressive group of core members who are engaged in various aspects of the practice of utility law. In addition, the Group includes other Saul Ewing attorneys who are experienced in utility matters but who also practice in other areas. This significant depth allows the Utility Group to staff multiple matters in multiple jurisdictions simultaneously, effectively and efficiently.

At the same time, the Firm's presence "on the ground" in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, the District of Columbia and New York offers Saul Ewing's clients the knowledge and political sensitivity that only a local presence can provide. That local presence allows the Group to assist clients in moving through complex regulatory processes as efficiently and cost effectively as possible.

The Utility Group's members have a wide range of experience in both the public and private sectors. The members have held key positions with state and federal regulatory agencies, and have represented some of the country's largest energy, water and telecommunications providers.

Working With Other Saul Ewing Practice Groups

Because Saul Ewing is a full service law firm, the Utility Group is able to offer its clients a wide range of other services, including corporate and financial counseling and assistance on joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, construction projects, taxes, bankruptcy, financial security, labor and employment, corporate governance, insurance, and risk management.

Working With In-House Counsel

Saul Ewing's Utility Practice Group is accustomed to working effectively and professionally with in-house counsel. We recognize and respect the value that our in-house colleagues provide, and we treat them as both clients and co-counsel. We poll our in-house colleagues on ways in which we can improve the quality and delivery of our outside legal services.

Referrals By Other Practitioners

Saul Ewing's Utility Practice Group, like its other practice groups, relies extensively on the good will and referrals of other practitioners. We recognize and respect the professional and business relationships that other practitioners enjoy with their clients. We will involve a referring practitioner in any matter referred to us to the full extent that he or she requests.
