Scott A. La Porta's practice primarily focuses on securities law, restrictive covenants, commercial litigation, and arbitration. He is a member of a team of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP attorneys who represent large financial institutions in securities litigation and violations of contractual covenants.
Scott also represents professional employer organizations, corporations, medical practices, and other commercial organizations in general business litigation, specifically related to restraints of trade, non-service agreements, contracts, and other separation agreements. Scott also practices in the areas of construction and employment law and litigation.
Scott began his legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in Tallahassee, Florida. He has represented plaintiffs in cases of nursing home abuse and neglect, as well as mass torts. Scott previously worked on catastrophic injury cases across the United States.
