Scott focuses on business and financial services litigation, including securities, banking and commercial insurance, as a member of the Real Estate, Development & Construction team. His experience encompasses numerous jury and bench trials. Additionally, he has briefed and argued cases in state and federal appellate courts.
A member of the Missouri Senate, Scott serves on the Appropriations Committee and Ways and Means Committee. He was a lawmaker from 2010-2012 in the Missouri House of Representatives.
Scott's accomplishments include:
•Representing Chesterfield, Mo., in a preliminary injunction hearing and obtaining positive results that allowed the city to expand its nature trail network.
Securing a $2.5 million judgment that will allow for the redevelopment of the St. Louis Centre.
Scott has advised Missouri-based securities broker dealers in industry, trading and regulatory cases. He also represents local and national companies in securities derivative and class action litigation.
He has brought numerous actions against those who fail to repay money borrowed from the Small Business Administration. Scott also advises businesses concerning insurance coverage matters and has substantial experience in coverage and subrogation cases involving seven- and eight-figure losses.

Obtained favorable results in preliminary injunction hearing that allowed Chesterfield, Mo., to expand its nature trail network.
•Won enforcement of a noncompete agreement when an employee's defection jeopardized a broker-dealer's multimillion-dollar investment.
•Received summary judgment in a case saving a 130-year-old farmhouse designated as a historical landmark from demolition.
•Helped secure a $2.5 million judgment that will allow for the redevelopment of the St. Louis Centre.
•Secured an appellate court ruling giving Illinois rental car drivers the right to chose whether their personal insurance or the rental company's insurance will provide primary coverage in case of an accident.
•Won dismissal in state courts of unmerited claims against insurance brokers in St. Louis, Mo., and St. Clair County, Ill.
