Sean Griffin is an associate in our Litigation and our Bankruptcy & Restructuring law group in Montréal.

Mr. Griffin's practice is mainly focused on commercial/corporate litigation in the field of securities and financial markets, and professional liability.

Mr. Griffin has drafted several opinions on bankruptcy and insolvency issues, more specifically addressing the various recourses available under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act. He was also an active member of the team that worked on the restructuring of asset backed commercial paper (ABCP).

Mr. Griffin was part of the teams working on matters concerning provisional administration under Québec's Securities Act relating to Mount Real Corporation, iForum and Triglobal.

He also worked on matters involving investigations by the Canadian and the Québec regulatory authorities relating to the sale and distribution of complex and structured financial products.

Mr. Griffin works primarily to defend financial institutions, public corporations, officers and directors against various statutory and civil recourses, including class actions, primarily in the securities and financial/capital market fields, as well as for recourses established under general civil law and statutory law under Québec's Securities Act.

Mr. Griffin studied philosophy and English literature at McGill University in Montréal. He completed his Master's degree in philosophy at Université Laval in Québec City and the University of Beirut in Lebanon. He completed his civil law degree at Université Laval as well as Université Panthéons-Assas in Paris. Mr. Griffin received his Bachelor of Civil Law degree (LLB) in 2006 and was called to the Québec bar in 2007.
