History
Phoenix
School of Law was founded in 2004 as a dual-division law school and a member of
InfiLaw Holding, LLC, a consortium
of independent law schools.
PhoenixLaw is the stateâ??s only law school offering both full and
part-time programs, and the only law school allowing students to earn a J.D. by
attending classes only in the evenings. The school received provisional
accreditation from the American Bar Association (ABA) in June 2007, making
graduates eligible to sit for the bar exam in all 50 U.S. jurisdictions.
The
school, which initially had 27 charter students, now boasts a student body of
more than 350 with an expected total enrollment for Fall
2008 of 350-400. The schoolâ??s growth is driven by its three primary mission
pillars: to help produce more practice-ready lawyers, create a student-centered
culture, and serve underserved communities.
The PhoenixLaw faculty is composed of persons with significant
law practice, judicial experience, and/or legal education backgrounds who have
a shared commitment to the institutionâ??s focus on both theoretical and
practical education of its students.
On May 20,
2008, 34 law students (including 11 charter students) received law degrees at PhoenixLawâ??s inaugural graduation.
