Sell & Melton, L.L.P. was formed in 1980 from the merger of the firms of Sell, Comer & Popper, whose lineage dates to the early 1930's, and McKenna, House, Lancaster & Green, whose beginnings were in the 1950's. Buckner F. Melton, the senior partner in the McKenna firm immediately prior to his election as Mayor of the City of Macon in 1976, joined the combined firm in 1980.

The Firm represents corporate and business clients headquartered in Macon, Middle Georgia, and Atlanta, and represents various out of state clients. The Firm also represents a number of public entities including various governmental authorities.
The Firm has members admitted in all federal and state courts in Georgia, including all trial and appellate courts, the Eleventh and Fifth Circuits Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
