Seth Schwartz is a Partner in the Litigation Department and was named a 2010 and 2011 Rising Star by Law and Politics Media. Seth's practice focuses on civil litigation, including commercial, close-corporation, real estate, and breach of contract disputes. He practices in federal and state courts in Ohio and throughout the United States, including courts of appeal such as the Ohio Supreme Court. Seth's recent experience includes performing as lead attorney for a dispute relating to contractual payments and title insurance for a large commercial shopping center. This dispute involved contractual interpretation issues, extensive discovery, extensive motion practice concerning the interpretation of the overlapping land agreements, and applicability of the title insurance policy. Seth also earned extensive experience related to a $17 million lease fraud matter and a $25 million trade secret and tortious interference case tried to a jury. Further, Seth has extensive experience representing local fortune 500 companies in litigations related to alleged fraud and securities fraud. Seth also successfully tried a commercial lease breach case involving issues of alleged constructive eviction and has mediated numerous cases, utilizing both judicial and voluntary mediations. Seth also was invited by the National Business Institute to lecture on mediation, settlement strategies, and negotiating tactics.
