Shannon T. Brown

In 2009, Shannon received her Juris Doctorate from Tulane University School of Law on an academic scholarship. While at Tulane, Shannon received a certification in Maritime Law. She also completed the Tulane Study Abroad program in Rhodos, Greece. Shannon was a member of the Tulane Business Law Society and the Tulane Civil Law Society. She also served on the Tulane Maritime Law Journal, being published for her comment on the Flotilla Doctrine and acting as Senior Business Editor for Volume 33.

Shannon is a resident in the New Orleans office. She is licensed to practice law in all state and federal courts in Louisiana, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Shannon is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Junior League of New Orleans and the Young Lawyers Section of the New Orleans Bar Association. She is also a member of the Federal Bar Association.

Since joining the firm, Shannon's practice has concentrated largely on Labor and Employment law, including litigation under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Additionally, Shannon handles matters concerning wage and hour regulations under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Davis Bacon Act, and the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act, among others. She has represented clients during labor audits and investigations by Federal Regulatory Agencies such as the Department of Labor and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Shannon also counsels employers on avoiding employment litigation through the use of smart internal practices and policies, including the use of federally mandated job site postings, employee handbooks, and thorough record-keeping. In addition to her labor and employment work, Shannon is experienced in worker's compensation and subrogation recovery, insurance coverage, and general defense litigation.

Shannon is happily married and enjoys spending time with her husband and their new son. She has two adopted dogs and is an avid supporter of the ASPCA. Shannon loves to cook and spend time outdoors when the weather permits. On the weekends, Shannon loves to watch her Alma Mater, the LSU Tigers, playing football and beating their rivals!
