| Biography | Stan Graham is a partner at Waller Lansden and immediate past-Chair of the firm's Labor and Employment practice. He has since 1996 represented management exclusively in all aspects of employee relations, including trial, litigation, arbitration, and day-to-day counseling. His litigation and arbitration experience includes disputes arising under the full range of state and federal employment discrimination laws, the Family and Medical Leave Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Labor Management Relations Act, and Occupational Safety and Health Act. He also has broad experience in ERISA litigation, noncompete disputes, medical peer review actions, drug testing and medical inquiries, and commercial litigation. Mr. Graham's recent trial experience includes the defense of a multi-national manufacturer on claims of retaliatory discharge brought by an employee discharged from employment while serving on a state court jury in Alabama. The 12-person jury returned a complete defense verdict following 35 minutes of deliberation. Mr. Graham represents Fortune 500 companies in a variety of industries, including in the financial services, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, insurance, distribution, and automotive industries. He also serves as exclusive employment counsel for a number of large employers, including a major hospitality employer with operations in 20 states, and as regional counsel for several multi-national employers. He is admitted to the state bars of Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, and Georgia, and to federal courts in six states. He has also appeared by special permission in numerous other jurisdictions, including Florida, North Carolina, Kentucky, and New Jersey. Mr. Graham is peer-review rated 'AV' by Martindale-Hubbell. He has also been recognized as a Mid-South Super Lawyer in the field of Employment Law by Law and Politics magazine. From 2006 to 2007, he served as Chair of the Tennessee Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section, and he continues to serve on the Section's Executive Council. He also serves as Chapter Editor for the ABA treatise, Age Discrimination in Employment Law (Lindemann & Kadue).
