| Biography | Stephanie Axmann is an associate in our Business Law Group in Vancouver. Her corporate and commercial practice is primarily focused in the mining and resource sectors, and in advising clients with respect to aboriginal matters in British Columbia and across Canada. Her recent experience includes conducting due diligence and assessing project-related risks in respect of corporate matters, mineral title, aboriginal, environmental and regulatory issues. Ms. Axmann has drafted a variety of agreements for clients in the mining industry as well as agreements between industry and aboriginal groups in respect of consultation, participation funding, and impact benefits.
Ms. Axmann joined the firm in September, 2009. She received a BA (Hons.) with First Class Honours in International Development Studies from McGill University in 2003. She received her LLB from Dalhousie Law School in 2008, and completed a portion of her law degree studying international and comparative business law at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg, Germany. Ms. Axmann was called to the British Columbia bar in 2009.
Ms. Axmann has presented at several national conferences and has written several articles regarding emerging issues in aboriginal law in Canada. Ms. Axmann is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of British Columbia and the Vancouver Bar Association.
