| Biography | Ms. Denby is a member of the Firm's Wealth and Succession Planning group. She concentrates her practice in estate planning focusing on federal estate, gift and generation-skipping taxes, closely-held business planning, sale and acquisition of special assets, trust administration, charitable giving and private foundation administration. Ms. Denby has authored numerous articles, including "Director's Road Map for Survival," "Lowering Your Capital Gains Tax, Even If Washington Won't — The Charitable Remainder Trust," "Starting a Private Foundation — Carrying Out the Donor's Intent," and "Other People's Products — Damn the Torpedoes/Full Speed Ahead." She is a past member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Trusts & Estates magazine as well as a past advisor to the charitable miniboard of Trusts & Estates. She is a member of Wingspread Philanthropy Planning Committee. She has also lectured at numerous professional organizations and training institutes including the American Bankers Association, the Illinois Bankers Association, Bank of America training programs, Northwestern Law School's President's Club and Bank of America. Ms. Denby is currently an Adjunct Professor at The John Marshall Law School teaching in the graduate tax program and has also taught at Northwestern University Law School. She is a member of The Chicago Bar Association. Ms. Denby received her B.A., with honors, from the University of Chicago in 1985 and her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School in 1988. . |
