Stephany Olsen LeGrand counsels developers, energy providers, and investors in mergers and acquisitions, project development, structured transactions, and joint ventures. Stephany's clients include leading financial institutions, exploration and production companies, commodity trading firms, retail electric providers, and pipeline operators.
Stephany also represents energy producers, drilling contractors, oil field service providers, and pipeline owners in a variety of complex commercial, insurance, maritime, and energy-related disputes. Recently, she served on the trial team in a multi-district litigation in which she represented an international drilling contractor in unprecedented litigation arising from the Gulf of Mexico oil spill in 2010.
Stephany also assists clients with crisis management, internal investigations, and governmental inquiries, including those of Congress, the Department of Justice, the U.S. Coast Guard, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), and Chemical Safety Board.
Prior to practicing law, Stephany consulted for Fortune 500 and government-sector clients, advising them on business process design, reengineering, automation, and information technology strategic planning. Before joining Eversheds Sutherland (US), she served as a law clerk for the Honorable Gray H. Miller of the Southern District of Texas.
Served as monitoring counsel for a London Market excess insurer in litigation in Texas and New Mexico arising from a multi-fatality accident in Texas.
Represents an international drilling contractor in the joint Coast Guard/BSEE investigation of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
Served as lead counsel in the BP oil spill litigation and guided the drilling contractor through crisis management and regulatory issues following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
