Stephen Grant

Stephen M. Grant is a partner in our Litigation Group in Toronto. His practice focuses on civil, estates and family litigation along with professional liability matters. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, of which he was the first President of the Canadian chapter.

He is the author of numerous articles on family law and professional liability. He has co-authored the text Lawyers Professional Liability, the second edition of which was published in 1999.

Mr. Grant is the Editor of The Advocates' Journal, the publication of the Advocates' Society. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the Ontario Reports.

In 2006, Mr. Grant was awarded the Law Society Medal for distinguished service to the legal profession.

He appears in the 2009 Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, a guide to the leading law firms and practitioners in Canada, as a leading lawyer in the area of family law. Mr. Grant is listed as one of The Best Lawyers in Canada in the field of Family Law for 2009. He is also included in Canadian Who's Who.

Mr. Grant received his LLB from the University of Toronto in 1973, and was called to the Ontario bar in 1975.
