Steptoe & Johnson, a multi-practice law firm, has provided customized legal services to business, industry and public entities in West Virginia and the region for over 90 years. Drawing on our depth of experience, combined knowledge and skills, we have formed practice groups and staffed geographic locations to meet our clients' evolving legal needs.
Assisted lenders and borrowers with the structure, documentation, and closing of numerous commercial loans. He has significant experience with loans secured by real estate and personal property, with particular emphasis on equipment, inventory, and intangibles as collateral. Additionally, our team represented debtors in workout/Chapter 11 matters as well as asset protection planning.
The law firm has represented banks and bank holding companies for mergers, holding company formations, commercial loan documentation, business workouts and consumer bankruptcy. He has also successfully litigated fraudulent conveyance and equitable subordination claims in state and bankruptcy courts and has regularly directed workout strategies for creditors both in bankruptcy and non-bankruptcy settings.
The firm currently is comprised of approximately 165 attorneys located in six offices statewide. To better serve our clients, we utilize advanced communications and technology systems which enable attorneys to share information quickly, efficiently and inexpensively. Computerized "information banks" eliminate duplication of work in those areas where common procedures and forms are well established.
