Steven M. Levin is a nationally renowned trial lawyer with over 30 years of experience representing seriously injured individuals and the families of those wrongfully killed. Steve and John Perconti founded Levin & Perconti in 1992, and since then, the firm has recovered over $520 million in verdicts and settlements for clients.

Steve has successfully represented victims in all types of personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits, including matters. Most recently, Steve obtained a $17.7 million settlement for a former police officer who suffered a devastating brain injury as a result of medical malpractice. Other notable cases include:
• $7 million medical malpractice verdict
• $6.7 million birth injury settlement
• $5.7 million workplace injury settlement
• $4 million salmonella poisoning settlement

Steve is known nationally as a pioneer in the area of nursing home abuse and neglect. He was one of the first lawyers in the country to represent nursing home residents and their families in cases of nursing home abuse and neglect. Since that time, he has represented thousands who have been injured or killed as a result of substandard care. Steve's approach to successfully prosecuting nursing home has been labeled by one of his peers as "Levinning the case," and has helped Levin & Perconti to obtain over $135 million for clients who have been neglected and abused in nursing homes. Some of these victories include:
• $2.9 million record nursing home negligence jury verdict
• $2.3 million assisted living settlement
• $1.5 million nursing home burn settlement
• $1.3 million nursing home assault settlement

Steve is frequently interviewed by local and national television news outlets and publications about his work on behalf of nursing home residents. His vigilance has raised awareness surrounding the epidemic of poor care and abuse in nursing homes.

Steve is on the Leadership Council of the National Consumer Voice for Quality Long-Term Care and actively involved in the American Association for Justice's Nursing Home Litigation Group. He also serves on the boards of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Decalogue Society and the Society of Trial Lawyers.

Steve has received an "AV" rating from the Martindale-Hubbell American Law Directory, indicating preeminent legal ability and very high ethical standards.
