Stuart practices in a variety of areas within the firm including trade regulation, advertising, professional liability, insurance, franchise, Internet law, distribution, publishing and litigation management. With more than 22 years experience in the corporate world as in-house counsel, he is well-versed in recognizing the needs and concerns of businesses, especially those involved in the production, distribution and/or the sale of consumer goods and services. Stuart has served as chief legal officer of three major U.S. corporations involved in consumer goods, insurance, and distribution. He served as general counsel to Sedgwick, Inc., the nation's third largest insurance broker for five years. In addition, he has written and lectured extensively on trade regulation, and the management of a corporation's legal affairs and its internal law department and has assisted in the start-up and management of a number of in-house legal departments. In the area of business law, he has conducted shareholder meetings and has reviewed press releases, earning reports, and other disclosure requirements of companies belonging to the New York Stock Exchange, American Stock Exchange, and NASDAQ. In addition, he has served as President of the American Society of Corporate Secretaries (New York Region) and the New Jersey Corporate Counsel Association, and as Chairman of the New Jersey General Counsel Group. Stuart is included in the current edition of Marquis' Who's Who in American Law. He was first selected for inclusion in the publication's first edition in 1980. |
