Biography

Mrs. Junn's background is civil litigation practice. Her primary focus has been on the representation of healthcare professionals in their capacity as independent contractors, partners, employers and employees of healthcare facilities, as well as the representation of owners, administration and management companies who are involved in the healthcare industry. Over the years, Mrs. Junn has been successfully representing her clients in lawsuits involving allegations of professional malpractice, elder abuse, breach of statutory duties, emotional distress, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and cases involving catastrophic injuries and punitive damages.

In addition, she has in-depth working knowledge of the complex issues involved in representing healthcare professionals in pharmaceutical mass tort, and coordinated litigation. In the coordinated litigation proceedings, In Re: Baycol Cases I & II, California Judicial Council Coordinated Proceedings, JCCP No. 4217 and 4233, Mrs. Junn advocated, managed, coordinated and helped to engineer a successful strategy for many of the physician defendants, resulting in a structural system allowing for their voluntary dismissals with prejudice. In her role assisting the lead liaison counsel for all healthcare professionals, she also worked in conjunction with the federal Multi-District Litigation, In Re: Baycol Litigation in Philadelphia, Court of Common Pleas. Mrs. Junn has represented individual healthcare professionals in another coordinated litigation, In Re Diet Drugs Litigation, JCCP No. 4032, in California.

Mrs. Junn has assisted her clients with various additional issues arising out of the nature of private medical practice and/or operating a healthcare facility, such as those involving employment law and premises liability.

As a natural extension of Mrs. Junn's practice in elder abuse claims against the healthcare industry, Mrs. Junn has given presentations on the topic of financial elder abuse to members of the financial and insurance industry concerning the industry's exposure to such claims.
