| Biography | Susan A. Hays has practiced at the Firm in the area of real estate law since her graduation from law school in 1984. Her practice focuses in commercial real estate, with an emphasis on development, land use, permitting, acquisition, construction and financing. Ms. Hays has been involved in some of the largest real estate developments in the State of Connecticut, including The Mall at Buckland Hills in Manchester, the Brass Mill Center in Waterbury and the CIGNA Campus redevelopment. Representative clients include General Growth Properties, Inc., New England Development, CIGNA, Pepperidge Farm, Incorporated, Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company and The Hartford. Projects involving primary/significant responsibility include Brass Mill Commons - regional mall in Waterbury, CT; CIGNA Master Plan - redevelopment of 600 acre campus to multi-use (golf course, residential, hotel, office) facility, Bloomfield, CT; Pepperidge Farm - 280,000+/-square feet bakery facility, Bloomfield, CT; Austin Brook Estates - 200+/- acre residential subdivision, East Granby and Suffield, CT. Ms. Hays is involved in numerous professional and community organizations where she has served in various leadership roles, including president, vice president, treasurer and board member. These organizations include International Council of Shopping Centers, The Real Estate Exchange, Leadership Greater Hartford - Class of 1995, LGH Alumni Association, Junior League of Hartford, Inc., Twin Oaks Condominium Association, Easy Street Investment Club, Celebrate Windsor, Inc., The Town & County Club, Waterman Associates, Inc., and BASIC. She is a member of the Bar Associations for the States of Connecticut and Rhode Island and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as well as the Hartford County Bar Association. Ms. Hays received her J.D., magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, from Boston College Law School in Newton, Massachusetts and her A.B., magna cum laude, from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.
