Susan K. McKenna, is a Shareholder in the Orlando, Florida office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Ms. McKenna's practice encompasses three primary areas of concentration. (1) Representing employers in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies. Ms. McKenna s litigation experience includes Title VII, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Equal Pay Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act and Fair Labor Standards Act federal court litigation, in addition to state discrimination, tort and contract suits arising from the employment relationship. (2) Counseling human resources professionals and in-house counsel on workplace related issues and strategies, including drafting executive employment agreements and personnel policies. (3) Conducting training on effective supervisory techniques, workplace law developments and staying union-free.
Ms. McKenna has been active in numerous professional and community organizations, including Center for Women's Philanthropy (Chair, Venture Philanthropists); Central Florida Association for Women Lawyers (President); Orange County Bar Association (Grievance Committee); Ninth Circuit Fee Arbitration Committee; Civil Justice Reform Commission for the Middle District of Florida; Hotel Human Resources Association; Central Florida Hotel and Lodging Association; and American Arbitration Association, Central Florida Advisory Board.
Ms. McKenna is a frequent speaker on personnel practices and employment law issues for numerous industry and professional groups, including those serving the healthcare, defense and hospitality industries.
Ms. McKenna's interests include travel, theater and outdoor activities in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
