Diversity at
Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP
Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP is committed to diversity in its workplace and to enhancing diversity in the legal profession. We believe that diverse skills, knowledge, and viewpoints make us a stronger, more productive law firm. We seek to hire and promote qualified lawyers and other professionals regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, gender or sexual orientation. We are proud of the important role that diverse lawyers and others play in our firm's growth and development. Our dedication is demonstrated by our firm's actions and the leadership roles our attorneys and other professionals undertake to promote diversity in the legal profession.
Sutherland has a 20-member Diversity Committee with responsibility for supporting and enhancing our firm culture. We recruit new lawyers by participating in the Southeastern Minority Job Fair, various job fairs focused on students of color, the Lavender Law Conference and on-campus interviews at Howard University School of Law. In 2005, Vault ranked us in their national survey as #9 in Diversity, #10 in Best for Minorities, #10 in Best for Women, and #13 in Best for Gays and Lesbians. We focus on retention and advancement by providing mentoring and training programs to help all our attorneys excel.
We believe that our diversity enhances our value to the firm's clients by providing them with a team of professionals possessing a breadth of experiences and perspectives. We are committed to working with our clients as they pursue the common goal of a professional workplace where opportunity is available to all.
