Tanya Hairston Whitner's practice involves most aspects of commercial real estate with a focus on portfolio dispositions and acquisitions, and representing owners and developers in the acquisition and development of mixed use properties. In financing transactions, Ms. Hairston Whitner has represented both borrowers and lenders in construction and permanent loan transactions. Additionally, Ms. Hairston Whitner has been listed as a "Georgia Rising Star" for real estate and in the 2005, 2006 and 2007 editions of Georgia "Super Lawyers." Selected Experience · Represented land investment funds with a total capital commitment in excess of $1.25 billion in connection with the dispositions of multiple unimproved parcels in fifteen states. · Represented buyers and sellers in the acquisition and disposition of multi-family projects and unimproved real estate. · Represented an institutional equity fund in the disposition of more than 30 multi-family properties in six metropolitan areas with a total market value exceeding 1.5 billion. · Represented a retail developer in the acquisition and disposition of shopping centers. · Represented lenders and borrowers in construction loans and acquisition loans. · Represented a local developer in the (i) acquisition of county owned property within a noise abatement area regulated by the FAA; (ii) approval process of such mixed use project (500,000 square foot retail, commercial, and office development, including a hotel, restaurants, and a conference center) by GRTA, county zoning authorities, and city zoning authorities; and (iii) financing and development of the approved project. · Assisted in the formation of real estate partnerships and joint ventures. · Represented corporate clients in connection with office leasing transactions. · Represented a telecommunications company in the due diligence review and disposition of 2800 cell towers throughout the southeast region.
