Experience Terence J. "Terry" Delahunty, Jr., LEED AP, is Of Counsel to GrayRobinson and is a member of the firm's Real Estate practice in the Orlando office. He concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate, land use and development, commercial real estate transactions, sustainable development, title insurance and mortgage financing. He is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator and has completed its court-appointed arbitrator training. He has also completed the Florida's Supreme Court approved training for mediation under The Residential Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation program. Mr. Delahunty has had a sophisticated commercial real estate practice in Central Florida for 25 years, during the course of which he has had an opportunity to be involved with virtually every type of real estate issue. He has represented numerous financial institutions, from small local and regional lenders, to national associations. He has extensive experience in tax credit and bond financing issues. Mr. Delahunty has experience in land use matters, both public and private. He is an authorized title agent for a number of commercial title insurance underwriters, including Attorneys Title Insurance Fund and First American Title Insurance Company. He is an active member of NAIOP, holding offices at the local, state and national levels, and the Central Florida Commercial Association of Realtors. Mr. Delahunty received both his law degree (J.D., 1982) and undergraduate degree (B.A., 1977) from the University of Florida, where he won the Best Oralist award as a member of the Moot Court team. He was a member and officer of Florida Blue Key, a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, and selected for both Who's Who in American Colleges and the University of Florida Hall of Fame. Mr. Delahunty has been peer-selected as one of Florida's "Legal Elite" by Florida Trend magazine, as well as "Best of the Bar" by theOrlando Business Journal. Mr. Delahunty is the first attorney in the firm to be designated a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) by the U.S. Green Building Council. He has a particular interest in green building issues and sustainable development. Mr. Delahunty is a member of both the Environmental and Land Use Section and the Business Law Section of The Florida Bar. He is rated "AV" by Martindale-Hubbell. He has a special interest in international matters and represents a number of foreign investors. He holds dual Irish citizenship, and has a basic familiarity in spoken Chinese (Mandarin).
