The immigration judge is primarily concerned with whether a person was convicted of an aggravated felony. It is hard to explain to the family members of the detainee facing deportation why for a minor crime their relative is in deportation proceedings. Even if an alien is convicted of misdemeanor but for some reasons such as parole violations if the alien serves a sentence aggregating more than one year then he or she becomes an aggravated felon in the eyes of the immigration law. "My advice is if you are eligible for citizenship please get naturalized," she says.

With regards to Employment based Immigration Amy reiterates that in spite of a slump in the market she is currently working with some employers and recruiters who have various openings in accounting, marketing, operations, IT and Civil/Structural Engineering field.
