About this office:
The Segrest Law Firm uses cutting-edge technology to provide excellent, state-of-the-art service, while still enjoying the gracious style and rich heritage of Alabama's river region. Dale Segrest founded The Segrest Law Firm in 2001 in Tuskegee, Alabama, after serving eighteen years as a Circuit Judge for Alabama's Fifth Judicial Circuit (Macon, Tallapoosa, Chambers and Randolph Counties). Philip Segrest joined the firm in 2003 after moving back home to Alabama from Chicago, Illinois, where he was a principal in and remains of counsel to the intellectual property law firm Welsh & Katz, Ltd. The Segrest Law Firm moved its principal office from Tuskegee to Tallassee, Alabama, but continues to practice extensively in all the surrounding counties.
The Segrest Law Firm is involved in its community, and has contributed to revitalization by restoring first the John Massey House (which provided its initial offices in Tuskegee) and, more recently, the Gen. Birkett Fry House, which now houses the firm in Tallassee. The Segrest Law Firm is also technologically savvy, using legal-specific software such as Sanction, Trial Director, Lexis-Nexis Time Matters, and Lexis-Nexis PCLaw, and general business software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Small Business Server to deliver the results our clients have come to expect.
The Segrest Law Firm engages in a general practice including Civil Litigation, Will Contests, Estate Planning, Business Formation, Real Estate transactions and Divorce and Family Law disputes. Philip also continues to practice patent, copyright, and trademark law under the auspices of Welsh & Katz, Ltd. The Segrest Law Firm has obtained favorable settlements for many clients and significant trial victories, and has experienced an impressive appellate success rate particularly notable in a firm of its size.
