Theresa Westlake is a senior associate in the London Finance practice. Theresa has represented financial institutions, issuers, underwriters, investors and companies in connection with a wide range of structured finance and capital markets transactions, with a focus on complex cross-border deals, across a range of asset classes, including auto loans and leases, residential mortgage loans, credit card loans, consumer loans and trade receivables. Transactions have included structuring and documenting commercial paper conduits, whole business transactions, multi-country trade receivable securitisations and structured investment vehicles (SIVs). She has also advised a range of stakeholders (including receivers, directors and creditors) with interests in structured financial vehicles on debt restructuring matters and related issues arising from the sub-prime crisis.
In 2011, Theresa spent six months on secondment to the legal department of GE Capital in London. She has also been seconded to the firm’s Hong Kong office for six months in 2008 and to the firm’s Chicago office for 18 months in 2013. She is currently on a special client assignment in New York.
