| Biography | Therese Finan is an experienced attorney and member of Venable's patent prosecution group. She advises both U.S. and international clients on intellectual property issues with a focus on patents and trademarks.
Ms. Finan advises clients on the development and protection of their IP portfolios through all phases of the patent process including the application prosecution, reexamination, reissue, patentability, infringement and validity options, IP audits, due diligence and litigation.
Ms. Finan has a deep background in biomedical research in the fields of biochemistry, cell biology and immunology. This background enables her to focus on clients in various fields including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, nanotechnology and medical devices.
Early in her career, Ms. Finan gained experience in the public policy arena serving as a policy analyst and representative for the governor of Pennsylvania. She also worked as the director of research and programs for a prominent healthcare institute based in Washington, DC.
