Tom's representative experience includes companies, investors, and lenders in current out-of-court workouts of energy related businesses; an Ad Hoc Committee of Term Lenders in the Southcross Energy prepackaged cases in Houston; Swift Energy Company in its prenegotiated chapter 11 cases in Delaware; ERG Resources in its recently successful chapter 11 in Dallas; Radio Shack in its chapter 11 case in Delaware; the DayMen Group in an out-of-court workout; MSD Performance in its chapter 11 case in Delaware; Sanchez Capital in the successful stalking horse bid acquisition of Tri-Dimension Energy's assets out of chapter 11; the official committee of unsecured noteholders in the chapter 11 case of Energy Partners Limited; Jefferies in the workout of Baseline Oil & Gas; and Corus Bank in the chapter 11 case of a large condominium project.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Tom advised Prime Succession, along with 47 related debtors, in their chapter 11 cases filed in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and the official committee of unsecured creditors in the chapter 11 cases of Tony Roma's restaurant chain.
Tom recently served as president of the Bankruptcy Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. The section is the leading organization in Texas for professionals involved in workouts, restructurings, and bankruptcy cases. He is a past president of the Houston Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association. He is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute.
