Biography

Tom Meng is a Member of the firm based in its Lexington office, where he is a member of both the Natural Resources Service Group and the Real Estate & Banking Service Group. His career in natural resources and real estate law spans more than 30 years. In particular, he has represented coal, oil and gas and utility companies on property rights, coal supply contracts, contract mining agreements, regulatory compliance, acquisitions of mining operations, and financing. He also handles commercial real estate, leasing and financing transactions for regional and national banks and insurance companies.

Mr. Meng has been named to The Best Lawyers in America® (2001-2012) for Energy Law, Environmental Law, Environmental Litigation, Mining Law, Natural Resources Law Real Estate Law and Real Estate Litigation in 2012, Kentucky Super Lawyers (2010-11) and has been elected a Fellow in the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. He has long been active in the Energy and Mineral Law Foundation, serving as President (2003-04); Vice President (2002-03); Treasurer (2001-02); and member of the Executive Committee (1998-2006).
