| Biography | Thomas G. Hoffman, Jr. concentrates his practice on prosecuting complex securities fraud cases on behalf of institutional investors. Currently, Mr. Hoffman is actively involved in prosecuting In re Goldman Sachs, Inc. Securities Litigation. Most recently, he was part of the Labaton Sucharow team that recovered more than $1 billion (subject to Court approval) in the six-year litigation against American International Group, Inc. Prior to joining Labaton Sucharow, Mr. Hoffman served as a litigation associate at Latham & Watkins LLP, where he practiced complex commercial litigation in federal and state courts. While at Latham & Watkins, his areas of practice included audit defense and securities litigation. Mr. Hoffman has represented clients in several significant securities class actions, including In re Scottish Re Group Ltd. Securities Litigation and In re UnitedHealth Group Inc. PSLRA Litigation. Mr. Hoffman received a J.D. from UCLA School of Law, where he was editor-in-chief of the UCLA Entertainment Law Review, and served as a Moot Court executive board member. In addition, he was a judicial extern to the Honorable William J. Rea, United States District Court for the Central District of California.
