Thomas H. Dart joined Adams and Reese in 2010 following the firm's expansion into Sarasota. He has been practicing law since 1977 and is the former President of the Sarasota County Bar Association.

Tom focuses on business law with an emphasis on corporate counseling and dispute resolution, and other practice areas including commercial litigation, construction litigation, corporate disputes, real property disputes, commercial loan workouts and restructuring.

He provides counsel for many commercial entities, including physician groups, related to membership or shareholder disputes, risk management issues, and with an emphasis on physician groups. In addition, he represents financial institutions in commercial loan workouts and restructurings, and lender liability claims. During his career, Tom has also been involved in numerous complex commercial litigation matters, corporate disputes, corporate acquisitions, lender liability cases, and construction claims.

Tom is admitted to practice in Florida and Colorado and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

His other representative experience includes:

· Handled many complex commercial cases involving multiple parties, and dealing with novel issues of liability.

· Extensive experience in controversies involving contract and business relationships, including resolutions of corporate governance and business torts, as well as representation of companies in contract negotiations and risk avoidance.

· Developed a practice in the counseling of businesses and individuals to resolve or avoid risks associated with commercial and corporate matters.

Tom is the Past Vice-Chair of the Judicial Evaluation Committee of the Florida Bar. He is a former Chairman of the Grievance Committee of the Florida Twelfth Judicial Circuit; former Chairman of the Florida Center for Child and Family Development; and former Chairman of Gulf Coast Legal Services, Inc.

Tom received his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law in 1977 and his B.A. from the University of Florida in 1973.

In his spare time, Tom enjoys snow skiing, golf and college football.
