With a practice emphasis on energy and admiralty litigation, Mr. Diaz represents major oil and gas companies as well as a variety of commercial enterprises that do business in the Gulf Coast region. Although his practice focuses on litigation, he has handled both domestic and international arbitrations and has successfully guided clients through alternative dispute resolution in several substantial property damage claims.
Mr. Diaz has litigated cases involving vessel accidents in the Far East and Central America, platform accidents in the Gulf of Mexico and the North Sea, and property damage incidents along the Mississippi River. He handles energy-related and commercial matters throughout Louisiana and the Gulf Coast. Among these matters are joint operating agreement disputes, product liability claims, exploration and production disputes, and landowner/mineral lessee disputes.
In admiralty matters, he has investigated personal injury, wrongful death, and property damage incidents both onshore and offshore in the states of Louisiana, Texas and Alabama. His background also includes issues involving insurance, indemnity, drilling and completion accidents, pipeline disputes and other oilfield tort claims.
