Thomas S. Galey focuses his practice on debt financing and secured transactions, including origination of asset-based and acquisition financing, leveraged finance and other lending transactions. Clients have included those in manufacturing and distribution, and financings have extended credit to the telecommunications, rent-to-own, security alarm, contracting and health care industries. Tom has also handled the structuring and documenting of large syndicated transactions and multiple lender facilities involving both public and private entities. Tom also has experience, both as lender's and borrower's counsel, with secured and unsecured loans to "middle market" companies. Another focus area in Tom's practice is commercial credit restructurings. He has represented both public and private corporations in reorganization, and participated in precedent-setting litigation in bankruptcy and secured transactions. Tom has been a presenter for continuing legal education and private seminars on related practice topics, including revisions to U.C.C. Article 9, investment property as collateral and related topics. Prior to his association with Buchanan, Tom served as in-house counsel for a private investment company engaged in strategic acquisitions.
