Tom Walsh is a Shareholder in the White Plains, New York, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. He received a B.A., summa cum laude, from Long Island University and his Juris Doctor from St. John's University. He is the author of “Recent Developments in the Weingarten Doctrine, The Board Shifts to the Right,” for the St. John's University Journal of Legal Commentary. He is also co-author of the Atlantic Legal Foundation's series “Leveling the Playing Field - What Charter School Leaders Need to Know About Union Organizing.” Mr. Walsh is a member of the New York State Bar Association and of the American Bar Association, and participates in the labor and employment law sections of both organizations.
Since joining the firm in 1986, Mr. Walsh has represented employers in all aspects of labor and employment law and litigation. He has represented employers before numerous state and federal courts, regulatory agencies, as well as in numerous arbitrations. Mr. Walsh has extensive experience in representing employers faced with union organizing drives and in proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board. He has litigated matters on behalf of employers before several appellate courts, and has appeared on behalf of national industry groups before the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Walsh is admitted to the courts of New York, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second, Fourth, Sixth, Eighth, and District of Columbia Circuits, as well as the U.S. Supreme Court.
Mr. Walsh is an active member of the Associated Builders and Contractors, the national construction industry group. He serves as legal counsel to the Empire State chapter, and is a member of chapter's Legal Affairs Committee. He is also active in numerous chambers of commerce and other industry associations.
Mr. Walsh regularly advises employers in diverse industries, including communications, health care, energy, manufacturing, gaming, and more. He frequently lectures on labor and employment law developments before professional and business organizations.
