Tim Carssow has been a partner since 1976, and was Managing Partner of the firm from 1996 through 2001. Mr. Carssow practices primarily in the commercial real estate field. He has been extensively involved in development and land use issues, limited liability companies and partnerships, and troubled real estate projects. A member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America® for Real Estate since 2001. Mr. Carssow was co-chairman of the State Bar committee that proposed the general and limited partnership statutes adopted by the Georgia Legislature. He was also a member of the State Bar committees that proposed the limited liability company and partnership statutes adopted by the Georgia Legislature. In addition, he has served as chairman of the Real Property Law Section of the Georgia State Bar. He has lectured extensively in the areas of real estate and partnership law. Mr. Carssow is a member of the Board of Directors of Midtown Alliance and served as a Trustee of the Paideia School. He is on the Board of Trustees for the Fernbank Museum and the Freedom Park Conservancy. Mr. Carssow served on the City of Atlanta Charter Commission, the City of Atlanta Subdivision Review Commission, and the Atlanta Economic Development Corporation. He is also a member of NAIOP, the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia and the Atlanta Bar Association. Mr. Carssow was admitted to practice in 1970. He earned his B.A. from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, in 1967. He received his J.D. in 1970 from the University of Texas School of Law, where he was Project Editor of the Texas Law Review. |
