Timothy Smith is a registered patent attorney and a member of the firm's litigation group. Mr. Smith assists clients ranging from individual inventors to large corporations including international companies. His emphasis is on patent prosecution and litigation as well as copyright and trademark litigation and drafting opinion letters. Mr. Smith is also a member of the firm's Utah Freedom of Information Hotline response group. The Hotline provides free legal assistance to Utah journalists seeking access to government records, meetings and judicial proceedings. Mr. Smith was listed in the 2008 and 2009 editions of Utah Business Magazine's Legal Elite in intellectual property. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with merit in 1990, and earned a Master of Science degree in International Relations from Troy State University in 1992.
