The Bankruptcy, Creditors' Rights & Insolvency Group at Trenam Kemker represents clients in commercial bankruptcy cases, preference and fraudulent transfer litigation, workouts, foreclosures, replevins, garnishments and related state and federal court proceedings.
We are known for our diligent preparation and persuasive courtroom presentations. Our clients include national and state financial institutions, healthcare institutions, landlords, equipment lessors, judgment creditors, Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 trustees and examiners, and Creditors' Committees. Members of the firm serve as bankruptcy mediators, represent parties interested in purchasing assets from a bankruptcy estate, stockholders and other equity interests. On a selective basis, the firm also represents debtors and handles assignments for the benefit of creditors.
Our bankruptcy practice group is one of the largest in the area. We have significant bankruptcy experience, and have been well trained in all aspects of bankruptcy law, including the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005. Our lawyers also are able to represent Foreign Representatives working in international insolvency proceedings. In addition, attorneys working in other areas of practice within the firm support our bankruptcy practitioners by offering a wide range of knowledge and experience in the areas of real property, taxation, corporate reorganizations, pension and profit-sharing plans, stock and equity or partnership interests, and corporate management law.
