| Biography | Trevor Lawson is a partner in our Labour and Employment Group in Toronto. He regularly advises federally and provincially regulated employers concerning all aspects of labour and employment law, including collective bargaining, collective agreement administration, discipline, labour arbitration, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and insolvency, outsourcing, incentive compensation plans, restrictive covenants, employment agreements, employment policies, employment standards, workplace safety and insurance, drug testing, discrimination and harassment, employee benefits, wrongful dismissal and privacy. Mr. Lawson regularly represents employers in all aspects of labour and employment law litigation, including labour and employment law proceedings before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Labour Relations Board, boards of arbitration, human rights tribunals and other administrative tribunals. He also regularly conducts collective bargaining on behalf of employers and represents employers in mediation and alternative dispute resolution. Mr. Lawson's clients carry on business in a variety of sectors, including manufacturing, energy, education, technology, hospitality, logistics, property management, transportation, pharmaceuticals, banking and finance. Mr. Lawson regularly makes presentations to management groups on a wide range of employment-related subjects, including collective bargaining, collective agreement administration, human rights, discrimination and harassment, progressive discipline and privacy. Mr. Lawson received his B.A. (Hons.) in Political Science from McMaster University in 1995, and his LL.B. from Dalhousie University in 1998. He was called to the Ontario bar in 2000. |
