After more than 10 years of research in the field of human and molecular genetics at the La Sapienza University of Rome, collaborating also with European and US research groups, and before joining SIB in 2001, spent two years with the European Patent Office in Munich as an examiner. Has an in-depth knowledge of European Patent rules and procedures, and a strong background in biotechnology. Has drafted and prosecuted patent applications for, and provided advice on patent protection to, leading multinational and Italian chemical and biotech companies. Clients also include universities and research organizations in Italy and abroad. Enrolled with the Register of Court-Appointed Experts on Industrial Property of the Court of Rome, which is the Italian Court with the largest specialized IP section.
