We represent individuals and all types and sizes of associations, businesses, institutions, and proprietorships and serve local, regional, national, and international clients. Our attorneys offer substantial knowledge and experience in structuring business entities; negotiating, drafting, and administering contracts and agreements; developing and administering executive compensation, profit sharing, and similar benefit plans; structuring relationships within businesses involving directors, officers, fiduciaries, partners, and general managers; assisting with risk management issues including internal and external policies, and relationships between business parties; financing and securing transactions; and handling major structural changes such as acquisitions, mergers, reorganizations, liquidations, separations, asset purchases, and dissolutions. We take an abiding interest in our clients, taking the time to get to know them and their businesses.

 

Four attorneys in the practice group are included in the publication The Best Lawyers in America, one since 1983, one since 1987, one from 2006-2008, and one in 2008. Seven attorneys have been selected as "Legal Elite" by Business North Carolina, one since 2002, three in 2007, one in 2007 and 2008, one in 2006 and 2008, and one is a member of the Legal Elite Hall of Fame in the field of Corporate Counsel. Five attorneys have been recognized as "Super Lawyers" by North Carolina Super Lawyers, one in 2006 and 2007, two from 2006-2008, and two in 2007 and 2008. One of the attorneys in the practice group is one of only 113 attorneys nationwide and the only attorney in North Carolina included in the 2007 BTI Client Service All-Star Team and two are members of the North Carolina Bar Association Hall of Fame.
