| Biography | Wayne C. Kreuscher is a litigator who does products liability and medical malpractice defense and other types of litigation. A partner in Barnes & Thornburg's Indianapolis, Indiana office since 1981, he has represented a number of American and foreign manufacturers and distributors of motor vehicles, telecommunications, home appliances, chemicals, drugs, medical prostheses, and other types of products. He has been lead trial counsel and has also participated on defense teams. He has been responsible for coordinating the defense of more than 300 cases around the nation for a particular product. His practice has given him considerable experience with jurisdiction, service, evidence, and testifying issues involving foreign clients. He also has represented a number of healthcare providers. Mr. Kreuscher was trained, and worked, as a journalist before becoming a lawyer. He finds his journalism background very helpful in obtaining, organizing, and presenting facts in complex cases. Mr. Kreuscher came to one of Barnes & Thornburg's predecessor firms in 1974 and has practiced in the litigation area since that time. He graduated in 1974 with distinction, Order of the Coif, from the University of Nebraska Law School where he was editor-in-chief of the Nebraska Law Review. As an undergraduate at the University of Nebraska, 1964-68, he was editor-in-chief of the Daily Nebraskan and a member of the honorary Innocents Society. He was the editor of United States Army newspapers while in the service and also worked for a daily newspaper before going to law school. Mr. Kreuscher is admitted to practice before Indiana state and federal courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He has been a speaker or panel chair at various Defense Research Institute presentations. He is also a member of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel. Mr. Kreuscher is active in a number of local and national civic and religious organizations.
