Wendy Choi focuses her practice on patent prosecution. She has more than 15 years experience representing clients in the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, ranging from start-up companies to large corporations in both domestic and international patent matters. Selected Experience · Handled complex U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, including appellate practice, interferences, reexaminations, reissues, and foreign opposition practice. · Counseled clients on patentability, validity, and freedom-to-operate opinions, inventorship determinations, employee issues, and trade secret protection. · Managed IP portfolios and alignment of business strategies which included transactions and extensive due diligence for IP transactions, licensing and litigation support. · Developed and implemented defensive and offensive IP strategy for $3 billion business, including paints, industrial coatings, digital imaging, leather chemicals, paper, fiber/textiles, adhesivers/sealants utilizing acrylic, polyurethane, polyamine, and polyester technology. · Prepared and prosecuted U.S. and foreign patent in chemical and business method areas, including extensive European practice, foreign opposition, interference, reissue and reexamination work.
